Yoga is probably one of the very best sciences for quick and healthy weight loss. This is because yoga programs incorporate exercises which utilize a great deal of powerful dynamic movement, which is ideal for burning fat, increasing metabolism and consuming calories.

Unlike many of the other methods of weight loss, yoga produces more permanent weight loss. This loss in body weight is not associated with any physical or emotional problems. Yoga is a relatively cheaper way to lose weight. The individual also gains a sense of confidence, improved self esteem and a better perspective of life

Yoga’s balanced and multi-dimensional approach to health and wellbeing, ensures that the weight loss is not just rapid, but is also natural and safe. One should always begin with warming up the body including a bit of stretching and relaxation exercises. If you lie on the floor with arms at the sides and with legs slightly apart, it is a good start.

Close the eyes breathe slowly and deeply relaxing each part, each muscle of the body, keeping brain completely empty. Avoid all mental stress, breathing rhythmically – inhaling and exhaling. What is Pranayama? – The Sanskrit word Prana means vital force or cosmic energy. Ayama means the control of the Prana, which signifies life or breath, and control of the vital force by concentration and regulated breathing.

Breathing and the impact on the abs (to get a flat stomach) are the overlooked facts about yoga. Yes, yoga can make you get 6 pack abs. Yoga set challenges and develops the abdominal muscles. The asanas related to breathing and abdominal muscles bring pressure to the abdominal muscles from multiple angles and directions, which helps target the entire abdominal region. Thus, not only are the upper and lower abdominals get toned but the chest muscles also get strengthened.

Other methods of breathing include using the chest muscles. This involves placing the hands on either side of the upper chest. One can then start to inhale slowly and feel the ribs expand. This process should be repeated several times. When breathing activity is performed well, it improves blood circulation and oxygenation of the tissues. One can also place the hands as far high as the clavicles or collar bones. Then one can breathe and feel the front of the chest expand. This method also involves the use of stomach muscles. With each deep breath, the abdomen is pushed in and then one slowly exhales. This form of deep breathing can help revitalize the body over time.

Yoga and meditation go hand in hand to provide you with best of the ability to stay calm and focussed , and keeping the body in equilibrium. Yoga Butterfly Asana (pose), just like Hatha Yoga Back Stretching Pose, is recommended as an exercise that should be an integral part of your meditation practice.

Yoga Guidelines * Enjoy yoga- People who enjoy their practice get the best gains. * Practice at least 15 to 20 minutes of yoga on a daily basis to stay improving and increase your level of understandings. * Find a yoga class close to your home or work.- Many yoga students take two or three classes a week, so it helps to find a class that is conveniently located. * Wear loose clothes.

O Practice on empty stomach, two hours after breakfast and four hours after a meal, and an hour after having a cup of tea or coffee. O Start practicing for short periods and gradually increase the duration. The practitioner should be a vegetarian as far as possible.

Prior to beginning any Yoga classes, it is important that one warm up. This means stretching the muscles of the hands and legs. While any form of stretching exercise can be done to warm up the body, one can also for briskly for 10-15 minutes to get the same result. Once the Yoga classes are complete, it is important to rest and let the body cool down. Most people will feel relaxed, agile and calm after a yoga exercise. Some describe the feeling as flying in space. Individuals who are obese or over weight should not risk jogging for fear of causing joint injury or falls. Some exercises like weight lifting can also lead to excessive damage of the joints.

O Cool down after exercising a session with slow and gentle stretches. O Consult a doctor or a yoga teacher before embarking on any yogic exercise program, especially when you are above 45 years of age, pregnant, have a personal or family history of high blood pressure or heart problem. Too much and too fast yogic practice does not provide instant results; these simply lead to injuries, aches and pains.
